Here's what I've done to my Marlin 60ss:

    I've added a rail mount.

That's the best set-up, for sure. No worry about scope walk with that.

Thanks Izzy! Rail and oversized charging knob made by Dip for Marlin 60 models.
Rail came in as undersized and charging handle came as oversized. A filing and cutting with a dremel must be done to fit.
Since Remington purchased Marlin the original top dovetail of the new Marlin 60 is now wider compared to the older Model 60s.

I just don't get why you would spend apx 3x as much to get those over the UTG...
Did you watch the video on that BKL Tech website?? Looks like it made a valid point on how the cheaper "look alike" rails don't mount straight center because of the flawed mounting style.

If that enough to worry about... 1/32 of an inch off center?

Very nice setup! What kind of mounting brackets do you use? And what height? I have a 3-9x40 that I need to mount on my Marlin 60 and would like to keep it low, but I think the lowest brackets would rest the front optic on the barrel or sights.

I watched most of it after you brought it to my attention.

Honestly I don't buy it. After you zero your scope it's a non issue. Wind and other factors will probably play a bigger factor on impacts.

I have had my 795 with UTG mount for a bit over a year now, it is solid and when I do my part it shoots dime size groups at 25 yards (bipod) and I have shot it out to apx 350 yards consistently hitting a metal plate at this years super secret zombie shoot.

So no I am not worried about a 1/32 offset. Neither are the 100's of other people that use them on their 795's and 60's. Whenever this question is brought up here or rimfirecentral this is the mount that everyone suggests. I have personally suggested it dozens of times. Not once has anyone been disappointed and said anything negative about it that I can remeber...

Thanks, Are you asking what maker are my scope rings?
They are made by Leupold model is Rifleman Aluminum Detachable Rings.
The one on the rifle is medium in height. They do have a high model.
This particular scope ring will not work on the regular dovetale of the Marlin 60.
Will only work for rail mounts.

O/T: Didn't know that was you sitting next to me at Sac Valley (don't think I ever caught your screenname). Nice meeting you! You'll enjoy that UTG mount; works great and keeps a 40mm scope off the barrel too.

I have had good luck with Weavers "Gram Slam" series of mounts and rings on my 10/22's, just one more option for you,,

Went to the range today, its pretty good with crappy ammo at 25 yards. Switched to the better stuff i use in my ar-15, zero was different and it was hitting high at 50 yards.

                            25, Winchester hyperx higb volsity 36gr 1250

                            50, cci ar-tactical. 40gr something

Note: not zero with the cci ammo.

2nd image isn't showing up but looks like a good range trip.

So do you like the scope mount?

                                Nice group though man!
