    Lethal Range of a 22LR

Shooting through 1/2 pine plywood at 440 yards. Interesting ...

I didn't need convincing. Very underated little round. Some guy tested this same theory a few years back by shooting a frozen turkey wrapped with clothing at 300 yards. Complete penetration. Good educational post.

im not convinced. hitting anything with .22 at 440 yards is a feat by itself.

the box says "dangerous up to 1.5 miles"
My AR is 7.62x39, so that if/when we get invaded, I can shoot their ammo back at them!

Well the debate isn't about being able to aim and hit something out to 440 yards, its if the round will be lethal at 440 yards. You do have a good point, though.

22lr is a good SHTF survival round. Lethal enough and cheap for some things.
My primary defensive caliber will still be centerfire.

shot placement. you shoot them in the leg, might kill them tomorrow. in the head they'll drop. you'd have to hit brain, heart, major artery, or a major impact to lungs/throat to stop them quick enough

if we're talking about shot placement, and not stray rounds, then shoot them with your .22 and slow them down enough that you can hit them with the gun.

I was shooting my contender pistol with a match 22 barrell last weekend and was shooting sub moa at 100 yards , bet i could do it again to.
I think 440 yards would be doable but change it 20 yards and you would probally be off the paper again .

We 300yd plink at SLOSA all the time. The 250 2" swinger is always in grave danger too
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself...A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague."......Cicero
