    Got a Lemon Ruger SR22 Pistol :(

Super bummed about this one. It's a really fun gun, and it looks like it will have to be sent back. There's just too many issues with this one.

First, you can see at the muzzle end, where it looks like the slide is gouging the frame.

Second, you can see the muzzle end of the frame droop down a little bit. Should I ever want to mount a little laser or flashlight, it wouldn't even be pointing in the right direction.

I don't think either of these should be an issue on a firearm, and hopefully I have the same positive experience with Ruger's CS as it seems many CalGunners have. Will keep y'all posted.

Looks like that came out of the mold before it cooled. I guarantee they are just going to replace it. Ask for a prepaid shipping label. My MKIII bolt chipped, they paid shipping both ways, and had it back in 2 1/2 weeks.

Oh, it's definitely going back. And thanks for the tip of getting a shipping label.

Sucks it's my first Ruger product too. How they respond will definitely influence if I buy another.

Reminds me of walther P22 I bought when it first came out in 2002. Lots of teething issues especially with newer designed .22lr pistols.

Probably the best customer service in the business in my opinion.

                Huh?

That is about the weirdest 'injury' to a polymer frame that I have ever observed!

Considering the slide moves away from that point when fired, and the slide doesn't appear to have a protrusion that would hit the frame in those places, I'm wondering how that even happened. Must have been a defect from the factory? Dunno what to say, then.

As far as that frame droop issue, the one displayed on the front page of the Ruger manual seems to have the same amount of droop. Hmmm . . .

All in all, the SR22 seems to be a nice piece, despite the polymer pieces. Ya know, I've been thinking about jailing another .22lr pistol so I'll just wait until we know more.
Where are we going that it's getting this hot and why am I in this hand-basket?

It shoots really well and feels good in the hands, actually.

Hopefully they sort them out and you get one

I just didn't pay to have a blemished piece, ya h=know

That suck you got a bad one, I just picked mine up and took it to the range Friday. I only ran about 100 rounds through it but it was smooth and didnt have any problems. I think it might need some lube but other than that it was good.

I'm very surprised that no one has said it...

That damage could not have happened during normal use. The slide can only contact that area during takedown. That tells me that someone tilted the slide forward aggressively/forcefully when they took it apart. Ruger will likely fix it, tho.

To echo the question above, how can the the slide contact that area in the front? I have the same pistol and can only see that damage being caused during take down.

I couldn't get the slide to make contact with those grooves during takedown though. I'm the only person who knows I have it, so no one else could have damaged it either.

And the MKIII comment, maybe I have one, maybe I don't (yet)

I do see what you mean. There's almost no reasonable way to get the slide to contact those areas when taking it down or reassembling, but there's also no way that happened when firing. Do you have a holster that you shoved the pistol into?
