Yes. Why else would people be buying the various other .22lr guns that look more like service pistols(walther p22, sig mosquito, etc.)? It's not like the 22/45 and MK series have a reputation of being unreliable pieces of crap or something.
edit: And of course some people consider looks when buying guns. Why else do you think the Tactical Solutions barrels come in 6 or 7 colors with decorative fluting, laminate 10/22 stocks available in 20 color combinations, gloss/satin finish, different bolt handle shapes, 1911 grip panels in hundreds of varieties(wood, plastic, metal, laminate wood, g10/micarta, checkered, smooth, tons of colors, bone/ivory, and so on).
