    Threaded barrel

edit: If there's some way to SSE this(and deal with the threaded barrel at the same time without permanently making the thing a mile long), you might as well just get a pac-lite barrl in any color, length, flute combination you want. It is good to see Ruger at least providing an option.

Daddy like! Except the gold. I agree with Merc- might as well get a TacSol upper if you're gonna go through the ordeal of a SSE

Yeah, I seen it this morning. I want one... Looks like it has removable grips too.

You could remove the thread protector, put a plastic washer on, then thread on a barrel extension, get that pinned in place, and do the SSE that way.

Then have a gunsmith cut the barrel extension off through the threads, unthread the remaining portion of muzzle extension, pull the washer off, and re-crown it without the threads.

At least that's the only method I can think of, and it's not super complicated but not easy either. And still, you could do the same for a tacsol upper and get it exactly how you want. It would also probably void your warranty.

            Damn roster...

Makes me wonder even more why the SR22 exists...

This Lite thingy might be fun for competition if it had a 7" barrel...

Because people want something that looks more like a service pistol, which the 22/45 and MK series does not?

I don't think 22/45s can be SSE. From what I heard, they cant remove the barrel to add a longer one for the SSE process.
Not sure if true or not but its what I heard when trying to get a 22/45 with replaceable grips.

This is really cool. Would have definitely considered getting one (in the event they make a CA friendly one) if I didn't already have a 22/45 converted to accept 1911 grips.
