10/22 rail that won't block iron sights?

I figure, with the knowledge in this forum, I can save myself a lot of pain and shopping.

I got my 10/22, it's got real nice fiber-optic sights. The bolt-on rail that comes with it blocks the sights, which seems like a shame to me.

any better alternatives to suggest?

I think the Kidd brand rail works. Rimfire Central forum guys would know for sure

i bought some "see through" 1 inch ring scope mounts but i cant imagine a rail low enough to not interfere

I just use a cheap Weaver rail I got back in PA at Wal-Mart with mine, with see thru mounts I'd be able to use the iron sights (if it had any).

I know weaver makes scope mounts that attach directly to the reciever as well that allow you to look under the scope to use open sights if you'd desire

I've got those on my 10/22. They seem to be pretty solid, and I've never had any problems with them, but be careful putting the screws in. The holes don't exactly line up on mine, so I'm missing one screw each from the front and rear mount, because I couldn't screw 'em all the way in.
