Yeah it sucks, I am on day 6 of an 11 day for a Savage Mark II TR. Kind of funny that they make us wait on a Long Gun. I have heard that a Long Gun isn't even really registered to a degree......Oh well, just a couple more days

very true, I am sure in my lifetime I will see an extended wait time. and I will be saying " I remember when you only had to wait 10 days )

They had considered a 30 day wait at one time. Just an attempt to kill business and bust nuts.

I gotta tell you, I don't think the cooling off period works...At the end of 10 days, my desire to shoot my new gun is even stronger.

10 days is the fig leaf that the Calif legislature wants to show the public that they have done something to make all gun purchases safe.

If it appeases that mass of morons who hate guns and who vote, so be it.

I have 7 days to go on my CZ 97B .45 ACP as well.

I have been through this about a dozen times as well.

                  - Colt .22LR Woodsman semi-auto pistol

                  - S&W 9mm

                  - Browning 9mm

                  - Ruger Mini-14

                  - Remington 700 7mm-08

                  - Ruger .300

                  - S&W .44 mag*

                  - S&W .22LR revolver

                  - Remington 700 .338

                  - Remington 700 .300 RUM*

                  - Mossberg 590*

                  - CZ 97B .45 ACP*

Of course, I have turned around and re-sold most of these as well, and then the other guy had to wait for the 10 day period. So some guns spend weeks and months "in jail."

" * " denotes the best and latest, and these I have ultimately kept.

30 days would not kill business. You would just need to wait longer. No choice.

When I pick up mine, on Thursday evening one week from today, I will take the next day off from work, and head straight to the firing range.

I just tried this..... its not working.... Now I have another 10 days. Maybe If I buy a gun every 2-3 days then once I get past the first 10 days I'll only have to wait 2-3 days to pick one of them up....
