Ruger Mark2's off CA Roster :( what do I do know...

im so sad, I had a Ruger Mark2 target model with a scope all stainless & pretty on layaway with my favorite gun store in Culver City (Ya, it the only one for us westsiders) MB Retting when I get a call to inform me that since its off the list I no longer can purchase it. I asked what will they do with it now.... sell it to someone in a free state at least they refund my money, but now im thinking to put it towards another fun .22lr - besides the Pheonix HP22 any other small frame 22 handguns that are fun to plink with?

they tried to get me into the NAA 22 revolvers, I like them since its so small but its not a pistol. any suggestions my calgun friends????

    * when will CA residents wise up and vote out these idiots that make all these rules *
    I mainly shoot .22lr, 9mm,45 acp, 357 & 38, 12G, 7.62x39, .308, .223/556, 7.62x54r, 300 win mag, 8x57

I dont want the mag disconect POS that the MK3's have. I guess Ruger wanted to push the new models so why renew with CA DOJ to fill their political coffers

im going to check out the brownings again. I did see some their that where nice.

              Mag disconnect can be disconnected.

                Yup.

You can either swap out Mk II parts (the good way) or just pull the offer. I pulled mine out and haven't had a single problem.
Alot isn't a word and allot isn't the word you think it is.

I'd really like a Colt 1903 frame, bad finish okay!
I'm also looking for a good deal on a 1911 frame or two for budget/spare parts builds.

If the only thing you hate about something is a mag disconnect- get rid of it.

There are a bunch of old colt and Hi Standards out there look around. If not the Buckmarks I have owned are solid. My nephews keep talking me out of them I have owned 4 and they are all gone. I also love the Rugers as well My MKI is among my favorites to shoot.

I bought a budging for $10 off somebody who makes them @ rimfire central. It was easy to replace and functions just like a mkII. The mag disconnect shouldn't keep you from getting it since it nothing to take care of.

Why is the Mk II off the list? Did the state remove it, or did Ruger take it off the list?

Never even knew there was a handgun list. Why is there even such a list? What does the list accomplish? Do companies have to pay to be on the list? Is it a permanent list or do they have to redo it every year or what? A lot of questions I know, sorry.

Just up to a couple months ago there were still many MKII's on the list and could be imported. I'm glad I picked up mine when I did, they are fun shooters. Due to new tax requirements, I won't import anymore unless the deal pencils or I really want something. Be patient, they come up for sale on the boards frequently.

California is truely a PITA...where else can guns go bad like milk and eggs? Once approved they should be approved with no expiration date, but then, again, they would lose money...and we all know that's what makes the world go round.
