Finally shot my CMMG

I used winchester bulk ammo. I think i shot about maybe 100rds. I had 1 failure to feed. The ammo was bent slightly when it didn't go into the barrel.

Next time when i go i'll try to shoot more and hopefully maybe i won't have any problems. It's a pain in the *** having only one mag and loading those .22's.

I was shooting low left and i was trying to target in my sight @25yrds. I wasn't successful. So next time i will have to give it another go.

I noticed after wards of shooting there were some debris like little tiny pellets. Is it the wax build up on the ammo that's causing this?

Any ideas on a cleaner ammo i can shot next time?

Also does anyone know if there is a quick ammo loader for the AR .22 mags? At least for the CMMG mag.

The debris are unburnt powder, that's just the nature of 22lr's.
Nothing to be worried about.

You need to test and find out what your gun prefers for ammo.
Blazer CCI and Federal bulk are pretty clean but you will still find unburnt powder.

Personally all I shoot is Blazer 525 Value Packs.

Different ammo may change your point of impact fyi
For example when I was testing different ammo federal shoots 1 inch down and one inch to the right from where I zero for Blazer.

Do not fear wax coated bullets. Top quality Match / Target ammo is wax coated.

My CMMG upper likes 36gr Federal bulk, and CCI mini-mags when I want to squeeze a little more accuracy out. I haven't tried any Eley or wolf yet but Shadow65 has I think and he's reported some good groups with a very low failure rate.

The best stuff I found out of my CMMG was SK Standard Plus. It's expensive but accurate and never fails.

Try to avoid ammo that is waxed lubed. Down the road it tends to build up. Copper plated is better, like the Federal bulk, cheap and good.

Mine loves BVAC best feeding and accuracy. 2 inches at 50 yards.

There is a "speed loader" you can buy (its much like the ones you get with a new glock)... I dont have one because i find with practice I can load a 10rnd magazine very quickly (less than 15-20 seconds)...

CMMG makes the loader. Like Dustin said, it resembles a Glock loader.
I shoot Wolf MT and Eley EPS for groups. But it's not something you want to run an excess of. The waxy coating will build up on the ramp and in the chamber causing feeding problems in a CMMG AR .22.
CCI Mini Mags are a great in between for accuracy, reliability, and running clean.
I've not had a chance to try the Blazer. Not available here.

Copper wash is always recommended for these uppers and kits. I prefer the Winchester 36 gr. copper wash bulk 555 over the Federal 550 bulk from Walmart. For me, it's much more consistant for plinking ammo.

When you get a chance, buzz the chamber using a .22 bore brush with oil in an electric drill. Stay out of the rifling. It will super smooth the chamber and clean the gunk out.

I do believe that it would work with the Gen2 magazines... However, I've never tried it.

Think of it this way though... Gen1/Gen2 magazines work in your gun. The follower position and other dimensions of areas that are inserted into the gun must therefore be the same (or very close). So, if the loader works for Gen1 magazines, and Gen1 magazines work in your gun... And if Gen2 magazines also work in your gun.. Then the loader should also work for Gen2 magazines.

Thing is, the Gen ll's are so much easier to load than the Gen l, I don't really see a need for any loader, especially on a 10 round.

Yeah... I think the loader would slow me down... Still, there are people who will like it I'm sure.

Federal Bulk has always been clean burning and 100% no failures.

i'll give federal bulk a try next when i run out of my winchesters.

I know some people dont' care for a loader but for me it's just a little bit easier and gives my fingers some rest.
