I've had a 60 darn near forever, also a couple of those speed-loader gismos almost as long..........really got to use them one of these days.
The loaders are alright but you still have to load them up first. Just another way to go though allot of ammo in a short period of time?

      They are fun!
Here's my model 60 alongside an old Marlin Glenfield Model 70 that I put the Tech Sight on and also fit a handguard for.
The Model 60 has a Williams receiver peep sight mounted.

I have owned several of the 60's great guns, one of my old ones had a real walnut stock it was a great looking piece. When I got it I didn't like the 14 round magazine so I converted it to an 18 shot by replacing the inner and outer mag tubes, it shot flawless after the conversion. I don't think the 18 shot conversion will work if you have the short carbine model, I guess it might work if you don't mind the mag sticking past the end of the barrel.
A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don't have one, you may never need one again.

Tech sights are a gotta have add-on on a model 60. So much fun. And adds little weight.

            Anybody Selling One?

My buddy has an older 18 round hand-me-down and we love adding it to the arsenal when we go out plinking. I've been looking to pick one up on the cheap and was wondering if anyone here has one they're willing to part with for cash.

I'd prefer an 18 round model, but will consider both. Anybody?

              Marlin 60 Muzzle Brake

We just began development of a new muzzle brake for the Marlin 60. Looking to determine what kind of interest there is for it. Take a look at http://www.smitharms.com

My first rifle was an old glenfield mod 60 18 shot. Suprising enough, even the scope still works. Shes a tac driver for sure. I need a few new springs but shes lasted for being an old k mart buy from the late 60s early 70s.

My Dad has an old Marlin 60 that was from his uncle and I borrowed it not long ago. It's a blast to shoot.

I want to hook him up and get it all cleaned up and do a few things to it.

                  1. Cleaning- Does anyone have a good link to how to fully break it down to clean it?

                  2. A Case- he's never had a case or anything for it, it's always just been wrapped in a blanket. I got a Galati case on the way that I picked up cheap from Gearhog.com

                  3. Sling- What's the best way to attach a sling to these things?

                  4. Sights- Thanks to whomever posted the peep sights earlier in the thread, I'm going to get one of those

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'll take some pics later when I pull it out of the closet

I have a 60SN I bought new in late 2010 that I just love. I have installed a DIP picatinny rail and mounted a Mueller Quick Shot reflex sight on top. Picking off cans or lemons at 100 yards is a blast!

Just got mine, first rifle ever, lots of fun to shoot, and very accurate, even in my inaccurate hands!

Strip-clean-oil, make very sure that the spring is not bent.
                                (New replacement springs are avaialable)

The reason these start to jam is because people reassemble
and bend the spring. Replacements are like $8.00 give or take.

Youtube has some assembly and cleaning videos.
