    Breaking in my CZ 452

My trying to learn as much as possible about civilian (as opposed to military) firearms care, I happened across Chuck Hawks web site. He has an article written by Bill Johnson about affordable accuracy (http://www.chuckhawks.com/affordable_accuracy.htm).

Curiosity led me to the David Tubb web site and the article on Final Finish (http://www.davidtubb.com/davidtubb/c...rticle_new.pdf).

My question is, has anyone tried this, or know someone who had, or has heard about results (good or bad)?

It sounds almost too good to be true.* For less than $40, improving the rifle's accuracy by up to 60%.

Nah, you don't need that. Buy $40 worth of ammo and practice instead.

That CZ shoots better right out of the box than you do anyway.
It cannot be inherited, nor can it ever be purchased.
You and no one alive can buy it for any price. It is impossible to rent and cannot be lent.
You alone and our own have earned it with...Your sweat, blood and lives. You own it forever.

    The title is....."United States Marine".

Just clean it real well before you take it out. My CZ had lots of gunk/grease in the barrel. Took about 20 patches to get it clean. Then go shoot the heck out of it

Get a .22 boresnake. That's pretty all you will need to clean the bore [routinely].

If you "wanna" break it in, go shoot it. Last time I checked a rifle barrel=/=car motor. And like someone said, it will shoot better than you can.

I have one too, I love it!

Buy 20 bulk packs of ammunition when you finish that your CZ will be broken in.

the CZ line of 452 are amongst the top for "Out of the box" accuracy.

invest in some good glass to put on it and clean it well...with any luck, you'll have near one-hole accuracy.

with CZ, you're more likely, than NOT, to get one that's more accurate than you'd think...

CZ's shoot great out of the box. I have a 452 Varmint that was free floated from the factory, so I pillar/bedded it and installed a YoDave trigger kit in it. Both of which increased the accuracy to shooting through one ob-longed hole at 25yards with Federal Bulk ammo and a 4x36 scope. I never considered barrel lapping since it shot so well. As for car engines being driven easily for the first 1k miles is another debate in it self. In my opinion you need to extend the range of the piston walls to properly wear in the engine evenly. Tolerances, metallurgy and machining advances have eliminated a lot of variables needed in the break-in of engines in the past. The same can be said for gun manufactures of today.
