How wrong does this look on 10/22?

    I'd cut it behind the barrel band, sand it down nice, refinish it, and put the sling swivels back in correctly. If you put a layer of inner tube rubber at the breech end of the barrel you can float the barrel too.

      just drill the threads out, 'plug' the hole with a glued in, hardwood dowel, and sand and re-stain it and you're "Home free"...if you want to, that is.

          Looks a bit out of place, but if it works for you than that's all that counts. You could also just remove that one and drill a new hold in the proper place or as suggested above get a new stock. I have seen them pretty regularly on here for $25.
