Ruger 10/22 MAGNUM!

Do you think Ruger will ever bring one back on the market? I sure hope so. I always bombard their website asking to bring it back. Especially now since Ruger is making their own hicap mags (BX-25) for the .22LR version.

Who here would buy one in a heart beat if it hit the shelves again?

Hard to say but im very doubtful they will unless the finally fix some of the issues like the extraction problems. I'd want a 17hmr instead of the 22mag as an auto loader rimfire

I've never understood the need for a .22 Magnum unless you live in a state where centerfire cannot be used to hunt but rimfire can.
.223 is better in every way. The cost is about the same for ammunition, if not a little cheaper for the .223.
Ballistics are also better for the .223
I have lots of request for a .22 Magnum AR conversion.

I think .22mag is cheaper. Remember, you get a box of 50, vs. only 20 with a .223 round.

Plus, the .22mag is quieter. The raport is not nearly as bad as a .223. Sometimes the .223 is just overkill, whearas a .22WMR is not. No matter what bullet I use, I can pretty much guarantee that when I'm shooting a bobcat, fox or even a coyote, the .223 bullet is going to pass right through the animal, causing two holes instead of one. That damages the pelt too much for me.

With a light 30gr HP from a .22mag, I don't have to worry so much about punching an exit hole into a small critter like a grey fox or bobcat.

I love me some 22WMR! Always hoped I'd come across a 10/22 magnum for a screaming deal, but I don't want to pay 6 or 7 hundred bucks for one.

It's a small game round. It can reach out farther than 22lr. I can take squirrels at 150 yards no problem. .223 on a squirrel will just blow it to pieces. If you actualy want to eat it, 22 mag is a great round, and tree squirrel is sweet eating. If I want to blow it up, .223 is my round of choice.

Thanks for the information. I've never shot a .22 magnum. I know I get a lot of request for a conversion using .22 magnum but it is very difficult and we found, dangerous, to try.

i have a Volquartsen Fusion .17HMR that can be converted to .22 Magnum in 30 seconds with swapping the barrel and have never had any failure to eject issues. I built a 17 off a Ruger 22 Mag platform and again after more than 3000 rounds have only had a couple of stove pipes while rapid fire. All you really need is the reciever then build everything around it.

also since its rimfire we can ditch the BBs and have all the evil features we want with a round that hits harder than 22lr
