Do they no longer make sbr/pistol .22LR uppers? I could've sworn they did in the past but now that I'm ready to buy one I can't find anything shorter than 16" on CMMG or Spikes' websites.

6.5" barrels are online. They have 6.5" uppers built but not listed.
Here is mine from the factory:

          Here it is now:

          CMMG 6.5
          M.I. T-Series 7" free float
          TAC 65 suppresser
          M.I. folding low pro sights
          P.A. Micro Green Dot

I have no idea what the CA law is on a pistol upper.

For Rimfire you'd have to run a Bullet Button on your PISTOL Lower... Which is why I kind of shyed away from doing one.

You have to be really careful because with Rifles your good to go without a bullet button... BUT with pistols, its a totally different ball game.

^^^ That is exactly what I'm going for.

I guess I just wasn't looking in the right place or maybe they're not advertising them online anymore; thank you for the info. I mailed off the form 1 for my SBR and a form 4 for a rimfire suppressor last week, so this will definitely be in order as soon as I get my stamps back. Probably be January by then though.

You should post this in the centerfire section also.

The 6.5" are rimfire .22lr barrels.
I pushed CMMG for the 6.5" uppers. For some reason I don't think CMMG believes they will sell. Granted it's a specific group that likes them but I have found the pistol uppers in .22 to be very popular.
I have a 5" Clint Beyer barrel and TAC 65 suppressor on the upper now.
