Get the S&W or Sig. I have the 15/22, my friend has a 522 and his brother has a Colt. I like that a 15/22 uses real ar-15 parts. All 3 guns shoot fine and with about equal accuracy, but the Colt like a toy to me.
To answer your question, it shoots just fine.

I pick up my Sig 522 on Wed., so I can't tell you how it shoots, but I looked at all of the forums and most people like them. If you want to install another stock you have to buy an adapter for about $90, for me the stock that it comes with it is ok. I also found spare 10 rnd mags for about $12. each and 26 rnd mag rebuild kits for the same price( add I think $1.50 to take each one apart). I like the feel and the looks of the Sig alot better than the rest.

I agree with Davek8s mostly. Accuracy is equal, S&W does use mil spec mostly, shooting wise both are fine.
The colt can use some mil spec as well.
My hang up with the colt was the breakdown for cleaning, the colt is the easiest to clean since you dont breakdown the bolt to clean it, but since I am an AR person and used to breaking down a bolt is caused me a little heart ache.
The biggest issue with the S&W for me was they didnt have stubby mags when I got mine, now they do.

Have you thought about picking up an OLL and a CMMG .22lr upper? You can have an authentic AR15 for practically the same price.

Build a AR-22, durability and flexibility wise, its the way to go. I have 1000's of rounds through mine.. the only problem has been breaking BDM mags.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I decided to pass on it and I'm glad I did, I want an AR15 but have a little more research to do.

I'm pretty new to this site so I dont know all lingo but could you explain a little more or a link to read here. Thanks, I'd like to build it myself so if I could get a .22 conversion kit, I'll buy a stripped lower and an .22 upper. That way if I wanted I could step up with a 5.56/2.23 upper and use my lower that I have already built minus the .22 stuff.

              More searching! Thanks again...

                OLL = Off List Lower

Like you mentioned, you can simply purchase a stripped AR lower along with LPK (lower parts kit) and stock assembly, or if you are 21 or older, you can buy a complete lower, then just top it off with a complete .22lr upper. My suggestion would be a CMMG upper. You will also need a rear sight or optic.

When you are ready for a centerfire setup, all you have to do is swap uppers, magazine, and throw on a magazine lock (if going with a featured setup) and you're G2G.

Thanks, I think there is an OLL stickied in the centerfire section so I'll check that out. I PM'd shadow65 per others recommendations on going with CMMG uppers.

X 2 for building your own ar 15 (22lr specific). It won't cost much more and more options for you.

Lower + tax + dros about 140. Lpk: psa 50.00 + shipping . stock 45.00 + shipping. 22 lr upper 350.00 and rear sight or optic (whatever you want).

Just purchased a CMMG upper (stainless bolt/collar, BHOA and forward assist) with a few 10 round magazines and revolution hand guard. Hopefully there wont be any problems that others are having with them. I'm thinking of a spikes tactical lower with parts kit locally. Then purchase the stock some where online and shoot it!

I have to find my PCS orders to purchase the lower because of CA strict rules. Any lowers I should avoid? Any recommendations on stocks?

Any good but cheap red dots? Just building to shoot for fun!

The Bushnell TRS-25 is the best priced red dot at Amazon.com on sale plus a $30 rebate but you'll need some type of riser and the cheap ones have mixed reviews.

If you can swing a little higher in budget then go look at the Primary Arms MicroDot removable base version and their PA Riser. Its bright enough in the daytime and light.

I'd vote for build your own, as I am currently in that process right now.
