    glock .22 conversion

I'm looking at a glock conversion from AA
and wanted to ask how accurate are they
what's your thoughts on them I already
own a mosquito and been looking at a 22/45
but now I see a glock conversion and it got
me thinking what will be better I hear good stories
with the rugers but how does the glock conversion
    compare
    Thanks

I don't own one but have read lots about them on glocktalk.
They are expensive, very hard to find in stock, and very finicky with ammo. From what I understand they will never run 100%.

I've personally never cared for conversion kits, I'd just rather put the money towards a new gun.

i had 1, it loved rgb's in fact they were recommended for the kit. for closeup it was pretty accurate but nothing to far. i used to put at least 550 rounds everytime i went to the range. the failure rate was ~3-5% which is not bad. the thing that i hated about the kit is the .22lr round its self it is really dirty. it would foul up the trigger group where i can actually feel gritty every time i pulled the trigger. but it did make the glock trigger outstanding. i got rid of it after i 6 months just because i started reloading. but i was in the market fora.22 pistol. i now have a walther p22 (it eats everything)

i have the AA for my glock and also a Ruger MkII, The Ruger is way less finicky with ammo and shoots more accurately. If you jus want cheap glock trigger time i'd say go for it.

I have one, it has been reliable with all ammo I've tried with the exception of Federal bulk (which the manufacturer warns not to use, anyway). Accuracy is on par with an unmodified Glock at 25 yards.

My take is if you want to practice with a Glock for the lowest cost, go for the conversion. If you're looking for a tackdriver, the AA conversion kit isn't it.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

I found one at a local gun shop a few days ago and bought it. It is not cheap but i always wanted one so i went for it. Going to try it out tomorrow with different ammo to see what it likes.

Just picked one up. I thought they were hard to find until someone sent me a link to a dealer (from PA) on GB that has plenty in stock and extra mags. Mine shipped came to about $300. Runs CCI mini mags and Wolf Match Target no problem (after about 200-300 rd break in). I will say that Wolf runs great, and is super accurate and it also has zero recoil. The CCI runs just as well, maybe a tad less accurate and has a more pronounced "kick" to it. Im happy with my kit.

I but a used kit for my G19 earlier this year. I run Remm Golden and Federal bulk boxes with about a 5% ftf fte rate. Every time I dump the mag with rapid fire it hasn't failed me. It has been very accurate for me up to 30yds. I can get it into a 5" target with ease. I think the main reason is the lighter trigger feel with the lighter springs in the .22 slide. Trigger pull is definitely lighter with the conversion slide on.

This kit is still the best thing I bought for my glock. I've put more than 2k rounds through it.

I love mine, for what I bought it for. I got my conversion so I could get cheap trigger time on my glock. I figured that the fact it fails often will aid me in fixing typical failures. Both of these reasons make me happy to own it. I shoot it 300 rounds every outing, and get many FTF, FTE, double feed, light primer strike dud's. . . etc.

However, the slide doesn't always lock back on empty, and that dry firing that is resulting has peened my chamber. I am going to take it in to get an inspection, maybe I will get the chamber reamed and a new firing pin, because I have lately experienced WAY more malfunctions. I am probably 1500 rounds into this conversion.

I don't know why people are saying its not accurate. i am more accurate with it than my 9mm glock. I was at Oak Tree Gun Club yesterday, shooting at 50 yards, there was a 2 or 3 inch steel circle that I hit 7 out of ten times free handed (my best of the day). Maybe I got a good one.

If you want a .22 survival pistol, ruger mk __ or buckmark. If you want to train on your glock for cheap, stop looking and buy.
