I already have a 16" midlength with this BCM upper.

Find 16” mid-length upper groups engineered for balance, reduced recoil, and reliable performance under demanding conditions.

    JD Machine stripped lower
    CMT LPK
CMT buffer tube kit w/ H buffer
    Magpul CTR stock
Magpul MOE grip & trigger guard
Troy folding BUIS (DOA rear & M4 front)

I didn't want a 20" rifle build so i figured a 14.5" carbine would be the next step. I've heard that the 16" midlength would be softer shooting than a 14.5" carbine, i guess i'll know once i have this built. Still need to put a 1-4x optic on the midlength though. I should pick up one of those $79 Aero Precision stripped lowers from Riflegear for this next build.

No gas block is needed... There's no gas port even.

Very nice. What do you think of the UTG rail. I was pretty impressed with the rifle length.
Is that the narrow light weight?

I'm very impressed with the UTG free float rail. The only other experience I have with quad rails are Daniel Defense rails, which I have on my two other ARs, so my expectations were not very high when I paid only $55 for the UTG.

I'm not sure if it's the narrow light weight version. This is the one I purchased:

Here is the new one. Narrow, very light weight, exted top rail matches the reciever and anti rotational stops.

That is a very nice rail. Any idea on where we can purchase this exact model yet? I might use this on a 6.8 middy build.
