OK, so I just picked up a new Mosquito and shot it for the first time today. Straight out of the box, no cleaning or lube. However, I did swap out the recoil spring and installed the slightly longer one that it came with. In the manual, it says that the shorter spring that it comes with is for "high velocity" rounds. So, the longer one is for "standard" rounds. I don't want to buy mini mags due to the price, but I think the Blazers are also considers "high velocity".

Shot about 200 rounds of CCI Blazer. 100% flawless. Not a single FTF or FTE. I also used a second magazine that I bought online which was the metal one. Both worked perfectly.

After reading so many horror stories about the Mosquito, I was very very happy with the performance! Absolutely love the gun.

Read the manual - they are described there

I use CCI minimags without any problems, I get a few too many FTF due to junk ammo (good fire pin impression in the brass)

no complaints, its one of my fun guns...

compare the pressure of the two springs in compression (compress both to the same length)

The stronger of the two would be the high velocity one.

IIRC they used to paint one of them white, but that may have gone away.

I believe the spring for the standard rounds is slightly longer than the spring for the high velocity rounds. In the back of the manual there is a diagram for the list of replacement parts. In the picture, there are 2 springs. The high velocity spring is labeled 3b and the standard spring is labeled 3a. In the diagram, the high velocity spring is pictured much smaller than the standard spring. In reality, it's only slightly shorter. But, in any case, there is a difference in length.

I don't ever plan on using the high velocity round spring. After shooting 200 rounds of CCI blazer with absolutely no problems, I'm super happy with the performance.

I just got back from shooting another 100 rounds of cci
mini mag out of my new mosquito we had 3 FTL it was
the second round of a full mag and 1 FTE ot of 100. I belive Im
using the correct spring both almost look the same I install the
one that seems that has about 1/2 or more coil the color is a little
more in the gold I guess thats the one for high velocity.
the other spring the color is in the more silver I gues the will
                          be the white for standard.
total ammo threw the gun is 300
                          200 cci
100 remington gold plated my mosquito does not like this maybe
after brake in Ill give them another try.
Ill post how my next outing to the range goes

Here is link to my write-up from the first time out. Went out a second time and had a few FTF/FTE in about 250 rounds of CCI Blazer and some really old rem that I had. The 250 or so of the newer Rem Golden worked fine.

My mosquito is FUN! Works well with CCI Mini-mag, and Federal Target ( the 325 round/box stuff from WallyWorld ).

True, it's not 100% reliable ... but it's a good opportunity to learn how to deal with FTF and FTE

Also, likes to be kept clean and lubricated ... if you fire several mags quickly, the barrel seems to get a little too hot and caused FTE

Make sure you use the correct spring - I accidentally tried 36gr. with the stiffer spring - almost ever rounds was FTE

It's in jail right now, my son liked the way the gun felt on his hand and we
                                went ahead bought it.

                                1. Field strip & clean all the preservative off. Make sure it has the LIGHTER recoil spring installed.
                                2. Lube it up really well. Reassemble.
                                3. Go buy 500 rds of CCI Mini Mag solids (good luck finding those)
                                4. Shoot 'em up.

My wife's Mozzie runs really well with Remington bulk HP after above steps. We disagree on malfs with the first 500 rds of Mini Mag. She says zero, I seem to remember one.
With Federal bulk it's pretty much a single shot. Since it runs with Remington I really haven't tried anything else. I clean & lube after every session. When cleaning, check the screw that holds the barrel. It can work loose.

If you buy extra mags, bite the bullet & get genuine SIG METAL magazines. Pricey but all reports I've seen say plastic doesn't work. Check Cheaper Than Dirt. I bought 2 at $30 each. Best price I've seen.

I'm not a big fan of the Mozzie. The trigger's horrendous. But the wife LOVES it. And she's pretty accurate with it.
