I had issues with the misquito but after a few hundred rounds of cci and federal blue box it will now cycle remington gold hps with no problem .I fired hundred rounds of remington yesterday with my nephew and it did not jam I didn't even keep the chamber oiled either.
So like people say you have to break it in with the cci mini mags I did not follow directions like I should have.It is a very fun pistol to shoot cheap ammo and great to train kids to shoot.I wish my dad took me shooting when I was kid.........
I am spioled now living on a farm I shoot when ever....I will make a video of us shooting those cheap rounds threw it.Originally Posted by olhunter View Post

Nice racks are much better. You can grab both sides of the rack to help stabilize while mounting.ProShooter's

I had lots of issue with my Mosquito and I do corss my fingers that you dont get a lemon. Mines had all problems known in the gun vocabulary and all remedies didnt fix it. I refunded it and got a MK III and never looked back.
My main purpose of buying the Mosquito was to save money when practicing...so buying CCI mini mags for 8 bucks didnt justify my cost savings. My 40sw I load are 4 cents each, 22LR bulk is 3 cents while mini mags is 8 cents...I can get 2x the practice with my 40sw so...nah.
Good luck with your Mosquito though and I hope your son loves it!

Might as well just use the 40S&W all the time.Comment

mine had problems at first, but after the break in it eats bulk ammo pretty well, it eats remington golden bullet (lots of duds which is the ammos fault) and it really does like that CCI blazer stuff.Comment

That blows. Have you guys looked into polishing the feed ramp & such?
Saw some videos on Youtube to make them run a lil smoother.
I was planning on getting this pistol until i saw the cost of each mag and the
GSG1911 became available at LGS's.Comment

Sig actually recommends CCI Minimag in the users manual. They also recommend a drop of oil every hundred rounds. I've only been using the spring which was factory installed so I can't comment on the other one. My major problem is that my gripping hand thumb knuckle tends to bump the slide release and the gun fires once then stays open. I think that is just me since other people shooting it don't have that problem. It is not as accurate as some other 22s I have but it is more fun.
Enjoy your new gun when your get out of jail card comes up.Comment

Two to Three Hundred Rounds
Here is my story. Today, I went to the range in Cucamonga and shot my brand Sig Suaer Mosquito. After reading all the negatives on the gun, I took four boxes of twenty to thirty year old .22 LR that I have no idea where I got. Also I had a box of 100 rounds of Winchester Wildcats that must be twelve to fifteen years old. Anyway, I was just getting rid of some old no good, unreliable ammo. One box hand paraffin covering the bullets, which gummed-up things. I had two magazines, both factory Sigs. I noticed that one's spring was much stronger than the other. Well, I remembered that I had loaded the weaker magazine with ten rounds of ammo last night and left loaded overnight. That was the magazine that had much less malfunctions. Then I seemed to remember one forum thread talking about weakening the magazine spring by leaving it loaded for a few days. I think it helps. Anyway, out of the 300 rounds I shot, about 10 were misfire (that always scares me) and about 10 were jams of one kind or another. After shooting all the poor ammo, I loaded some CCI Minimags and bench rested about twenty rounds into a group of one and a half inches in diameter at 25 feet. With no fliers. I then packed-up and came home. Don't hesitate to buy a Sig Sauer Mosquito! It is a very fine pistol and it is a very good shooter (after break-in) which is fun to shoot and It looks and feels like a "real" gun. Good Luck!Comment
