proprietary mags is whats turning me off on the 15-22 and ISSC Scar 22, i mean yea you can buy it but almost cost double of the standard Black Dog 10rders and in some cases not readily available

but i guess it also depends how many you plan to own and shoot, me having the 522, it makes sense to hunt down .22lr rifles that will all feed the same mags...my.02

M&P mags are cheap and available. I do not know where you have looked at the prices/availability, but it is common to find them for under $20. In fact, Midway has them for $16 today through the end of the month. Seems that is on par (or cheaper than) the BD mags.

Under $500 for an exact AR platform, complete, 22LR rifle. When I was making this decision a year ago it was a no brainer for me. To each his own I guess.

          This.
I was under $500 OTD after tax, DROS, and two extra magazines. I couldn't put together an AR for that cheap.

well i got my BDM mags for $11.99, but at any rate i dont see them readily available unless bought online (i shoulda rephrased my prior statement, sorry)

trust me i am still considering the 15-22, it just makes sense to me to be able to interchange magazines between a couple of platforms...both financially and physically

and building up an entire kit its just way too expensive, might as well build a .223/5.56 AR lol

Correct... In fact, an AR platform would be nearly be double that price. As I said, it was a no brainer decision for me, but I knew exactly what I was looking for. Mags do not matter. Just buy 10 of them and be done with it; not that big of deal really.

I just got mine last week, it's really accurate but a pain to clean. You can't take the BCG out without tools/voiding warranty. They put locktite on the iron sights so they took some work to change out.

So far I really like it.

Nope no problems with a thin barrel so far.

I am very happy with my Tactical Solutions AR-22. Once I got the bolt dialed in it's been perfect. Goes to the range every time I do. Great fun!

Nordic Components NC-22. You'll have to find out when they'll have a complete rifle available. Should be coming soon.

ETA: The upper will work with any Mil-Spec lower. So sorry to hear that you must buy a complete rifle because of age.

I recommend a S&W 15-22 MOE even if it's in ADDITION to whatever AR-22 you may own.

I was at Angeles this morning and put another 500 rounds through it (Aguila, Winchester and Federal) and it's completely flawless!

I guess it depends on whether you prefer aluminum or plastic for your upper and lower.

A CMMG goes together and comes apart just like a standard AR because it uses the same barrel nut, upper receiver, lower receiver, ect.. that a standard 5.56 AR does.
