    S&W M&P .22 Pistol

Anyone else following this and waiting for this plinker/trainer to be out? I have exchanged a few emails with S&W, mainly asking when to expect to see the gun released, price, and whether they will submit it to CA DOJ for testing. Was first told to expect it relased late April, now they're saying mid-June-July. Price will be $415 MSRP but will most likely sell for $369. No word on whether they plan to submit it for testing but based on S&W's past I'd say they plan on doing it.

Couldn't wait so I bought a 22A. If this is CA legal, though, I may have to get one. It does look sweet and would make a good buddy to my M&P AR-15 22.

I think I'm gonna wait for this to come out. I almost went for the Sig Mosquito. Yeah it would look good with it's sister 15-22

I'm not sure if you guys heard, but this isn't a M&P with a .22lr topend.

It is a completely different pistol styled like the M&P...it even has a hammer

It's not even made by S&W.
They contracted it out to another company (non-USA).
Almost none of the parts interchange with the S&W M&P line of pistols.

I'm guessing similar to their AR line?

Correct points made above. It will be its own gun but will feel and be dimensionally similar to the M&P 9 and 40. It will be made by Umarex.

I got another update from S&W today, saying the new MSRP price is $600! Seems like a bit leap to me and not worth the price when their full size guns go for less. We'll see what the street price is and whether it is worth it, hoepfully in a few months.

$600? WTF are they smoking crack? I guess I'll just go pay $300 on a mosquito
