          i went into a gun shop asking about new sights because i had same issue. basically he said these are target sights, so you line them up at 6:00, sights at bottom of target. not on bullseye. combat sights you line them dead center on bullseye.

          from what i understand i was just looking down the sights wrong. since then i have adjusted and i definately shoot much much better, but i still prefer to line my sights up on bullseye.

          if you have held the mk 3 hunter, it has a hi-viz front sight and v-notch rear. much much much better and that is what i ended up ordering. you can get the set from shopruger.com
