    Ruger 10/22 tactical

Anyone have a 10/22 tactical made by ruger ? I saw a review by gunblast and I am interested, i would like to talk about features, accuracy etc.. I would also appreciate it if anyone has seen on in a gun shop to let me know, Bay Area.
    Thanks Bill

Had it -- loved it -- a buddy saw it and bought it away from me --
Accurate, works best with ruger 10 rounders -- VERY rugged and cheaper than converting your own gun with the same parts -- here with "real" AR --

Milspec tube let me put my LMT SOPMOD right on.

    Damn.
Now I wish I'd kept it!

I was thinking about getting one but with Turners selling them for $200 I would just get one of those and add this stock kit to it. I can find these kits for a little over $100.

        Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

I just purchased a Ruger 10/22 and I'm drooling over the Archangel Marauder/HK G-36 stock. The you tube video is awesome! These are supposed to ship Late march I think.

ya I bought one late last year. I've shot as good as 1/4" groups with a red dot at 25 yards.

My bad on the SR-22 -- I didn't know Ruger was selling another "tactical"

Looks like nothing special. Better to get an old metal trigger guard 10-22 for the receiver and build exactly what you want. And cheaper.

I've seen the Black Synthetic stock (the one with the flash hider and no bipod) at US Firearms in Sunnyvale for sale about a month ago. It's a nice setup for the price, but I bought a 1974 10/22 carbine instead.

There is the SR-22, which is not a Ruger tactical. There is the Ruger tactical with a threaded barrel + muzzle accessory and allows for further changes in std. ar-15 muzzle threaded accessories. Then there is this whole new beast I've not seen before, the tactical with bull barrel, hogue stock, and bi-pod included.

Between the two, I'd choice the std. one wth threaded barrel. allows for neat possibilities when out of state (suppressor and such). and the stock will likely be replaced with something the folds/telescopic/both anyways.

The other tactical model appears to be a target tactical 10/22, more in line with the notion of a Designated Marksmen type of appeal. The hogue stock would be a shame to replace, and the barrel is the larger standard bull, but appears to not be threaded, limiting versatility.

I'd get the target tactical if you dont plan on replacing barrel or furniture and are looking for out-of-box nail driver. I'd get the regular tactical if you plan on replacing the furniture for something that can go compact or long as your shooting needs dictate, and if you do have the opportunity to legally use suppressors when out of state.

If you're not able to get out of town to shoot I'd go with standard 10/22 on sale for $200 even. Stock will be replaced if you're going tactical. if you desire a muzzle accessory, there are plenty that do not require the threaded barrel. Just not suppressors.

dag nabbit! Shouldn't you of all people be singing praise for use of composites in areas appropriate?

Are you talking about this one that Ruger sells?

The 10/22 Carbine Tatical? I I bought the tactical and realized there are no front or rear sights. Instead it has a weaver rail on the receiver. I ended up swapping out most of the parts to customize it so now I really wished I saved my money, bought a cheaper 10 22 and manually swapped what I wanted in and out.

I am having a custom WA2000 built on a Ruger receiver. They will NOT make it on the plastic frame. For most custom DIY builds, I would replace the whole trigger group with the vastly superior Volquartsen model anyway.

For unmodified, shooting squirrels in the dump, off the shelf 10-22 from Big 5 is fine.

you could always go with the saw conversion kit also..
