    Add a cheek rest -

Someone on the forum bought this and it fits on the 552, even though the cheek rest is made for an airsoft clone.

How did you load 900 rounds in one range trip? Your poor thumbs!

Thanks...going to try the thumb loader. I did have a thumb muscle cramp and had to take a break reloading. Luckliy I had 5 mags so I could shoot for a bit till I had to reload. Wish we had standard cap mags.

If you are luck enough to have Pre-Ban Ciener mags they'll work in your 522. Ciener and Black Dog mags are the same internally with a different look/design of the exterior body..

One big reason I bought a SIG is because it shoots any 22LR with NO
              problems. Pete

how did the cleaning after go? 900 in one session I would imagine 6+ cotton patches before they come out modestly fouled.

Actually, the barrel wasn't too bad. A few passes of Hoppes #9, sit a bit while I cleaned other parts of the gun, a few more patches through, and some light gun oil to finish. Dirty yes...but most of the build up was around the area near the feed ramp and behind the extractor...lots of gun powder residue. LOTS.

hmmm i woulda thought the full length barrel burns out almost 100 percent of the propellant, oh right, 900 rds. hahha

                      Ok....

Just a quick product review. I got the thumb loader because after this many rounds, I do admit my thumb was hurting from pushing the rounds down. I know you can do other mods so that you can pull the spring downward from the bottom of the magazine, but I'd rather use something very similar to my Uplula for my full sized H&K USP 9mm.

The thumb loader did exactly this for me with the Sig 522 mags (factory and black dog).

Going to give it a real test by using it on the next range trip to dump all my Golden Bullet rounds ~700 (I don't like those).

I wanted to spend a couple more dollars (since it didn't affect shipping) and get the dummy rounds to try out the new loader. PLEASE DO NOT GET THESE. They aren't as durable as the ones I have for my H&K USP 9mm. They are much lighter than a .22lr round and have cut out centers.

Surprisingly the Sig 522 cycled most of the rounds. Because the rounds were light, the nose of a few of the dummy rounds jumped to the far left and missed the feed ramp. One dummy round actually snapped in half.

                      Anyhoo...thumb loader good. Dummy rounds...bad!

My finger is so sore from loading mags today that it hurts to type with it. I needed to see that.

I've put about 2000 rounds through my 522 without a hitch. The rifle eats just about anything I feed it. I enjoy it a ton and +1 on the Black Dog Mags. They fit better in the mag well compared to the Sig mag that came with the rifle.

900 rounds in one go !
                            You must love the thing!

I almost bought one, picked up a M&P 15-22 instead (it was cheaper at the time).
Down the road my father picked up the SIG. I can say that I dont regret my purchase, but had I gone for the SIG Id be equally happy. Of the tacticool .22lrs, its def one of the best.
