Picked up my first .22LR today!

Well 10 long days later I picked up my HK 416D .22LR. I friggin love it and cannot wait to get it out to the range! I got a forearm grip with bipod legs and will be adding much more I think as I go along with a scope being the next purchase. I found 4 additional mags online, and at a good price, so I'm ready to get out there and get some! Glad to be able to post in this forum discussion and look forward to sharing more as I update. I've only seen a couple people post their HK's but I hope to see more in the future!

Damn I was totally digging the stainless birdcage in the 2nd pic. then i realized it was just flash. Still, looking good. If you ever get the chance to go out shooting in the desert, run some aguila hypermax ~1800 fps against 3 steel panels sandwiched, an old obsolete computer case will do. The results so I hear *nudge* are pretty epic.

Well I took her out to the range today (called in sick *cough cough*) and had a blast pumping through a few hundred rounds. I seriously could not figure out the sights to save my life but had fun and I've just decided to focus on getting a scope (pun intended)! The only downer was a guy 3 stalls down had a misfire and shot himself in the hand (grazing wound, not a through and through) and they shut the range down and the guys with lights and sirens showed up. Cant wait to get some more goodies for her and post new photos soon!

Yolo Sportsmen's...it wasn't that bad of an injury and really the guy just got faint at the sight of his own blood.

Glad you had a chance to fire up the new rifle, I found the sights awkward too!
It took several rounds for me to get it close to right. Wait till you put a scope on it; you'll never go back!

I tend to avoid fire ranges like the plague, and would rather drive for a couple of hours to BLM lands north of Kramer Junction and east of hwy 395. I'll have the whole place to myself, especially during the week.

I just got back form a shoot out and will post some pics shortly in a separate thread.

Congrats !!! The HK is a nice looking rifle.

Recently my dad and I rediscovered the joy of blasting away a thousand rounds of 22 in one session. Now we are looking for all the 22s we can get our hands on.
