    1/8th lb trigger

holycrap thats a lite trigger.. a friend at the range brought out his preowned 1940-1950s olympic target pistol... he has put over a hundred rounds through it and still (roughly) 1 in 10 goes off before hes ready for it.. i fired it 3 times... the first round went flying off into the hills.. second round was about 6' over the target stand.. third round hit the 2" target i was aiming at..

several others also fired it.. after each of us fired it when handing it off to the next shooter we all chanted "finger off the trigger till you are ready to fire"... every single person threw one or two rounds randomly down range.. but everyone got at least one intended discharge and everyone hit the target.. it was an amazing firearm.. no idea what it was but it was pretty friggin rad.. the trigger had a screw in it and all you touched was the tip of the screw.. all you had to do was touch the trigger and it would fire..

it looked something like this but a bit different.. amazing firearm..

    anyone else have one?

2oz trigger pull on a pistol? I wouldn't even want that on a rifle, let alone a pistol. The fact that you guys were getting so many accidental discharges(well, they weren't negligent I suppose) shows exactly why I wouldn't want that.

That's like taking a funny car for a ride in the Walmart parking lot.

That thing's dangerous in a normal range setting and needs to be used only in the right place at the right time by the right people.

I have an Anschutz Olympic class rifle with a 6 oz trigger, and it still catches my by surprise every once in a while.

its an olympic pistol its been fired thousands and thousands of times and never once killed or injured anyone.. perfectly safe to use at a range when basic firearm safety rules are followed.. notice i said that every round went down range.. no one got shot no scary close calls..

this stuff is friggin amazing.. lots of respect for these pistols

Ya, i'd say unsafe. The guys in your video know how to handle a gun like this..obviously you and your friends don't. They guys in this video are also in a controlled environment, and load 1 bullet at a time. You get bent.

The guys in that video have had training(either coached or self taught) to handle a firearm with a trigger like that. Handing such a trigger to people unfamiliar with an extremely light trigger resulted in accidental discharges. Regardless of the pistol being pointed in a safe direction, and the rounds going properly down-range, if you can't control the trigger then you aren't safely operating it. Note how I called your shots accidental and not negligent. From the description you and your friends were obviously following the rest of the safety rules and that's fine. But if the slightest unexpected touch is setting it off before you even intend to, I wouldn't call that safe in the slightest.

Now if you guys get used to the trigger and can handle the gun without setting it off by looking at it funny, that's fine.

Any firearm that consistently discharges unintentionally should be considered unsafe.

As long as you know the trigger is adjusted that low, and you can rap the rifle/pistol hard without the sear disengaging ...it should be fine.

Most of my KIDD triggers are set in the 4 oz range, and my jewell triggers in my 700's are at 3 oz. It takes a while to get used to, but once you do its great.

My jewell's I actually have to adjust UP to 3 oz , as they come factory adjusted to 1.5 oz...which even for me is just too low.
