    Just bought my first 22lr.

Saw an ad at Turner's. $210 for a Ruger 10/22 stainless. So I drove by this afternoon and bought one. Any recommendations on add-ons or accessories I should look into while I'm doing the 10 day wait?

If you want to stay with iron site, Tech Sites are the best. Beyond that, you can change out everything other then the reciever if you want t bling it out.

I like it. Time to head to Turners and buy a 10/22 on sale.
Looks like they used a tactical barrel on the "G36".

do you plan on hunting with it, or shooting while walking around?

So $210.00 for the gun and nearly the same for an add on stock? To each his own, but if I'm going to spend $400.00 for a gun I'd rather get a $400.00 gun, maybe the Ruger Target version.

I've handled the other Arch Angel stock, wasn't impressed with the quality. Again, to each his own, that's just my take.

The Volquartsen bolt catch release is nice. I've never had an issue with the triggers on mine to justify spending obscene amounts of money on a $200 gun. They are great for plinking right out of the box.

Buy a few extra magazines (factory or Butler Creek) and a Butler Creek magazine loader and LOTS of ammo.

                  Enjoy!

I based most of the upgrades per Appleseed. So here are the parts I bought so far:

Simmons 22 Mag Scopes 22 Mag 3-9x32 w/Rings AO Matte
                    USGI Cotton Sling
                    Butler Creek Mag Loader
Uncle Mike's Quick Detachable Machine Screw Type Sling Swivels 1-1/4" Black
Ruger Magazine Ruger 10/22 22 Long Rifle 10-Round Polymer Black x3
Bell and Carlson Extended Magazine Release
                    Volquartsen Recoil Buffer
Power Custom Rifle Trigger with Overtravel Adjustment Ruger Aluminum Red
Volquartsen Bolt Release and Target Hammer

I'm not too worried about how it looks. I just want it to shoot well. I'll also Probably upgrade the barrel and stock down the road.

Looking over this list I just realized I have nothing to mount the scope on. Any ideas?

It should come with the base.

there are so many options for the 10/22 it's ridiculous, but i added the following cheap mods and i'm loving it so far. then again, i could have left the gun bone stock and still loved it.

                          - Hogue overmolded stock ($60)
                          - Weaver rail ($6)
                          - Simmons Scope ($40)
                          - Tactical Solutions extended mag release ($30)
                          - Volquartsen extended bolt handle ($30)
                          - Volquartsen recoil buffer ($8)
                          - Butler Creek steel lips magazines (3 @ $19)
                          - UTG bi-pod ($29)
                          - Ruger sling ($15)

                          enjoy your new purchase!

There will be some screws on the top. Purchase a rail of your choice, remove the stock screws, place new rail on top, screw new rail on using provided screws. You are done adding scope mount. $6 and 2 minutes of your time.
