If there was only one you could have - go with the carbine.
You can always pick up a nice used MkI or MkII in good condition. There are millions of them around. The 22/45 has a somewhat dubious reputation but some people like them a lot.

too( I live out of state).I also dont like the 22/45 model of the Mark lineup. Not a big fan of polymer, enough to where i swapped out the trigger group on my new 10/22 with a Volquartzen. If you put MkII instead of 22/45 that would have been tough for me. Either way you can't go wrong, both very reliable and good shooters.
