    both

10/22 with tech-sights and vq hammer. you can also get a PA micro dot and have it lower 1/3 co-witness.

22/45 with vq sear and 1911 grip mod.

not what you asked but a very fun plinking set.

also the butler creek mag loader for the 10-22 and ultimate clip loader for the 22/45 are must haves.

do you like to shoot rifles or pistols more? there will be your answer.

I'm leaning towards the 10/22. Just in case I ever have to shoot varmints and such.

If it were me and I didnt already have a 22lr rifle or pistol, I'd go with the 10/22. They're fun to shoot and you can upgrade/modify it to your heart's content.

I wish they had the MKIII Hunters on sale.

I don't like the 22/45 nearly as much as the old MkI and MkII. So I'd got with yet another 10/22!

Yesterday I was looking through my storage shed and found the box for my 10/22. The price tag was still on it: $128.95. I bought it in the mid 1980's and it still shoots great.

The reason I picked the 10/22 is because I shoot the 10/22 more than the 22/45.

I have both too. Love them both.

If you can only choose one, think about which one you will shoot more.

In the long run, the 22/45 likley will cost you less, because you likely won't spend a ton on modifying it. The 10/22, with all the modifications you can do, will suck cash out of your wallet faster than a . . . . (I'll leave it at that.)

I feel the same. I always hear about all these great deals and not a Turners in sight.
