    Ruger 10/22 .920 Bull Barrel switch ?

Hey everybody, I recently got the muse to modify my Ruger 10/22. I have never modified a rifle before, so bare with me if this is a stupid question . I've been wanting to add a Bull Barrel and with that, having to change the stock to fit the Barrel. Would it be possible to take the Receiver, trigger, bolt, etc, and switch them into the new stock and barrel ?

Yeap!! The 10/22 aftermarket stocks are drop ins. The barrel is easily removed with two screws under the barrel. Good luck and post some pics when you're finish.

With a little work you can use you factory stock too. If you dont want to spend the money on a new one, I like the look of the wood stock better. Just throwing it out there for you.

If you live near Santa Barbara, I can show you an example of a factory stock with the barrel channel enlarged, and the finished product: Action with Magnum Research carbon fiber barrel and Volquartsen trigger group bedded with Marine-Tex in a Fajen thumbhole stock.

            Good luck.

Literally thats all too it. Just finished my 10/22 build today and it was too easy. Just make sure you have some gun oil (i used rem oil) and a rubber mallet, they come in handy when its time to put the .920 barrel on. The fit is a little snug so the rubber mallet and oil make life a lot easier on you.

Go to Amazon and get the Ruger 10/22 customizing book, good info and good resource to have. +1 on www.rimfirecentral.com Probably the best source around. I've built about 15 customs now, it's a sickness. There's a couple of tricks to know about so do some reading before you start pounding and screwing.

                Have fun

Before you buy a new barrel you might want to have Nemohunter on rimfirecentral re-work a factory barrel. The accuracy of a Nemohunter re-worked barrel surpasses pretty much all barrels under $400.

Rimfirecntral has more info on 10/22's than you'll ever use
