    Best <$75 10/22 accessory/upgrade for x-mas present?

I'd like to get someone who has a new stainless 10/22 a nice x-mas gift that's under $75 if possible (under $50 even better, but I want it to be of quality). Does anything come to mind? He tends to like keeping things simple, so nothing too tacticool. I'm drawing a blank...Thought about a trigger, but don't know if there's one that's simple to install and in that price range.

If they like scopes then a silver 3-9X40 would be around 40-50 with mounting hardware. How about a couple bricks of ammo for them to blast their rifle?

I guess some good quality ammo might be a pretty good idea. I'll look into the scope too. Was thinking it would require much more $$ to get something decent, but forgot this is only a .22, so maybe it doesn't need to be big bucks.

I can vouch for that Edge extractor. Freaking awesome.

I'd say go with an extended magazine release, one of the rubber recoil buffers, and as much ammo as you can get with the leftover money.

Yeah, give him 3 or so FACTORY 10rnd magazines! One can never have enough magazine, even if they only hold 10.

That extractor is very nice too!

These ideas are perfect, and I'm thinking of going with the latter two...but they're out of stock for the bushings that I think he might need (I'm not sure how to find out for sure short of checking with him), and I'm not certain how the parts will match up given he's got the stainless version. Anyone familar enough with these to steer me straight?

Many thanks to all btw. Calguns is awesome for stuff like this.

He's out of state and likely already has plenty of skeet, so I'll pass on that one.

Oh, and keep the ideas coming just in case

just swap out the hammer, bolt release, and extractor. the trigger pull will be cut atleast in half. the parts will match fine. don't even bother with the springs or shims it comes with. many people get light strikes when using those springs.

extractor and then hammer and sear.

#1 by far would be a VQ sear, followed by #2 VQ extractor.

I've heard a lot of good things about the VQ sear, but you can do the bolt-release on your own in like 5 minutes with a dremel.

VQ's mag release is a lot of fun to use as well, much more comfortable than the stock one.

i think you mean hammer is #1

for the MK pistols the sear is what really takes down the pull weight.

I sure like the Simmions .22mag 4X scope on my 10/22. Of course extra mags and a brick or two then you are at around $75.

I've heard a lot about the VQ hammer but I haven't tried it yet.
