So Ive been being told by a few that there is no 10 round limit on .22's in Cali. Is this true? Can you buy any size mag you want?

No - - What you were told is not correct. .22 caliber guns are limited to 10 round detachable magzines the same as all center fire weapons. The only exception is .22 rifles with a tubular magazine. .22 rifles with tubular magazines are not limited to 10 rounds.

This of course does not apply to any pre ban magazines that you may own as long as the weapon you use them in is not an assault weapon.

As an example, if you own any pre ban high capacity magazines for a Ruger 10-22 you can use them as long as the rifle is not configured as an assault weapon.

If you walk into any gun shop and ask for a 22lr handgun or rifle you'll notice the detachable magazine for all of them is 10 rounds. There is no 10 rounds limit on tube fed magazine that are non-detachable.

As mentioned, 10-round limit on magazines in CA applies to all firearms with detachable magazines unless you have "pre-ban" magazines.
