    Cheapest 10/22 Bull Barrel

I'm buying a cheap 10/22 and swapping out the stock to a Hogue and want to put a bull barrel on it as well. What's a good, cheap one? I don't need an insane match one or anything, just something around $100.

Would prefer a used one to keep cost down even more. Any ideas? Thanks!

Here you'll find what you need.

I've been thinking that this forum needs something along these lines. I want to preface this by stating that I am not an expert, nor do I even consider myself to be anything closely resembling an expert. As such, the advise that follows is largely based on three things: 1 - the opinions and...

Problem solved both a hogue stock and a bull barrel for 140.

Oh Markus you temptress. That seems like a pretty good deal.

Would you guys suggest the 16" or 20" — I really want to keep the weight down and the mobility up. Will 4" give me a big accuracy difference in a .22? I'm not really looking for a tack driver, but want something that will hit what I'm aiming at well.

ETA: Looks like they only have 16" in stock right now anyway. Thanks guys, I'll pop for one of these.

Welp a bull barrel is going to increase the wight a bit over the stock 10/22 version. I must admit I don't know what difference it would make 16 vs 20. I've been lusting over one of those kits for a while but haven't been able to pull the trigger per se. Either I could get this kit or I'm almost all thr way to getting a k31.

From what I've read, you start losing muzzle velocity after 16" of barrel in 22LR.

Here is a good read about the 16 vs 20 inch barrels.

I'm looking into a new barrel. I am a little concerned about weight. So I'm wondering if I really need a longer barrel. What am I giving up by going with a 16" compared to a 20"? Is there a "sweet spot" when it comes to 22lr barrels?

Yarp 20 mins to find exactly what you need and figure out what version you need not too shabby.

I would not get that barrel. Get a Green Mountain, it's well worth the couple extra $.

A bull barrel will add a lot of weight. So definitely get the a 16" or 18" and fluted will bring down the weight as well.

My 18" is more accuarte than my 20", so you never know.

A green mountain will generall cost as much as that kit or more just for the barrel. OP was asking for hogue stock and bull barrel on a budget but its really only another $50 or so to get a hogue stock.

How about this Adams & Bennett (lots of good reviews) http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct...tnumber=305251

With my C&R Discount I can get this and a Hogue for $150....

ETA: Going with the Hogue and Adams from Midway. Placing an order for some other stuff already so might as well save on shipping. Thanks for the help everyone.

Allegedly, A&B barrels are made by Green mountain.

I bought an A&B barrel + a Fajen adjustable stock for $140 directly from Battenfeld Technologies a few years ago. I was able to net $90 for the stock off of Craiglist so for a little wheeling and dealing, I ended up with a 16" fluted bull barrel for $50 + shipping. Deal can be had if you look around.

I would suggest saving some extra money and getting a Whistle Pig aluminum barrel. Light weight and very accurate. I took off my E.R. Shaw barrel and went Whistle Pig. Tremendous weight difference.

PS - There's no such thing as a, "cheap" 10/22. Sure, it starts out cheap, but rarely ever stays there.
