Which .22 rifle?

I have both a model 60 and an older 10-22. Out of the box the model 60 is more accurate.
If you want both accuracy and a lower price you have got to go model 60.
A great fun gun comes with both.

Marlin 795 hands down!!!!!!

Marlin 795 or 60. Same Action and barrels just 60 is tube feed and 795 is mag feed. Both provide the same top for a scope or tech sights.

No knock on the rugers though, you can trick them out all over the place but your $200 price tag will skyrocket.

I was in the same boat as the OP. The Marlin Co. has lots of cred. They make fine guns. It came down to the ability to work on the ruger along with magazine availabillity. A stock change to fit me or barrel swap to get a little more being posssible was nice options to have over none.

The 10/22. Only add on being a bolt bumper for less than $5. Accu-glass for $30. A simmons 4X for $20. Great videos on the net for bedding and trigger jobs. My first bed and second trigger. Fun cheap with mega support at RFC. I wound up with a moa shooter for $250 said and done. No need to do $$$ mods but have a custom built hunter.
