    New to the forum

I ran across this forum and it seems there is a lot of interest in AR .22's and conversions.
I've been doing testing for CMMG with the Evolution System.
I'll be happy to answer any questions. If I don't have the answer, I will certainly find out.
We have compiled a lot of tips, issues, and fixes.
CMMG believes the units should work with very little end user effort.
Some things to keep in mind:
Do not disassemble the BCG. Of course there may come a time when it's necessary. Be very careful not to bend the rails. That will cause all kinds of operating problems.
Buzz the chamber/chamber adapter. This is chucking a bronze brush it a drill, adding some gun oil to the brush, and running it in and out of the chamber until warm. This gets the crud, lead out, and smooths the chamber
CMMG recommends using copper wash ammo such as Winchester 555, Fed Bulk 550, or CCI mini mags.
Remington's can be problematic. Mine will run the Golden's, but I've got a few thousand rounds through it. Your mileage may vary.
I'll keep you guys updated. Something new seems like it comes out daily. We just got the 10 round BHOA mag issue straightened out yesterday.
Plenty more good stuff to come.
    Dave

    Hey Shadow!

I also have one of the new CMMG .22LR Uppers (I'm also semi-active on AR15com)... I've also seen several other people lately at local ranges rocking the new CMMG .22LR Uppers, they are already gaining popularity even though it seems no local dealers are selling them.

I personally think It's a fantastic upper. I've shot everything from Fed Bulk & CCI Mini mags to American Eagle lead tip and Remington GB's. With the exception of the GB's it's ran 100%, and the GB's were having a failure rate of some type of function of less than 2%. Not bad IMHO.

I've been eagerly waiting for a 10rd BHOA, and seriously cannot wait to get my hands on one.

Yeah, I previously had only a conversion bolt, but once they released the complete upper, I jumped right on it. The COOLEST thing(I think) about it is that they offer the upper without the bolt assembly so you can just drop your existing conversion in there and get straight to tearing up paper without any break-in.

As much as I love shooting 5.56 at longer ranges, I get more enjoyment out of using the CMMG upper. It's nice to be able to shoot all day and not think about how much money I just wasted.

      Good times!

I can't afford to shoot 5.56 much anymore. Sighting in is about the extent.
A .22 that actually runs is a blast. And these run great.
Accuracy is good, especially considering it's a blaster barrel.
I let some guys shoot it at the range yesterday. They had several types of .22 ammo. This time, it ran Rem Subs with no problem.
I guess it's good and broke in now.
I'm going to build an SBR version to use with my .22 can.
6" barrel will give me a 10"ish looking suppressed rifle.

NorCalDustin, I modded one of the 10 round mags last night. Easy mod and it worked perfectly.

Any numbers on average groups sizes for certain types of ammo?

Best group I have shot at 50 yards is:
            .807 with Eley Match

            Win 555 1.295

            CCI Mini Mags 1.2

            25 yards with Eley
