Sunday morning, got up early. Headed out to 5 Dogs with my new cmmg. 22 conversion in my AR. Had about 20 rounds threw it and then FTE stovepiped. Cleared it and two rounds later another FTE. It did this three more times till I had it with it and move on to the postal range and finished the day. So, has anyone gone threw this with a brand new cmmg conversion? And what do I need to do to fix it. Oh and by the way, it was federal 555 bulk I was running out of Backdog 10 Rounders.

Expect that to keep happening for a couple/few hundred rounds before it miraculously begins to work like freakin butter. Clean and lube it and have patience.
What ammo are you using?sigpic -
Might help to go home and cycle the action 500 times. Would make it even better if you dropped the hammer each time (not dry firing it, but half cock back and guide the hammer down).sigpic

Yeah, just keep using that and get through the break-in period. It will clear up.
It will also help to follow their break-in/cleaning instructions found here:
The CMMG .22 conversion is designed to be a simple plug and play unit. All kits are tuned from the factory and do not require any modification.Typically, if a kit will have problems, it will be during
I found that brushing the chamber until it's warm like they describe really helped the FTE issue early on.sigpicComment

Very cool info. I bought the conversion from Botach tactical and it didn't come with any info. Only the bolt wrapped in bubble wrap. Not saying anything bad about Botach at all. Shipping was super fast. Anyway, ill try all that and keep you all posted. Thankssigpic

The CMMG kit should have came in a plastic tube with blue rubber caps on the end. Not the first time I've heard this about Botach.
Instructions would have also been included.
You may want to contact CMMG about this.
Always buzz the chamber after shooting.
Buzzing is chucking a bronze .22 brush in a drill, applying a little oil to it, and running it back and forth through the chamber adapter until it's warm. This removes residue, lead, and smooths the adapter.Independent Field Tester/Research and Developement
