AR-22 TacSol Upper vs. 10/22

Hi,

Right now I own a ruger 10/22, which I have joyfully added tech sights to. I am really extremely digging the AR-22 SB-X. Anyone have experience or speculation as to whether the AR 22 upper will have the same service life as a 10/22? I really want to get one, but only if it will last a lifetime (you know in case western civilization falls and I have to hunt bunnies for the rest of my life with my case of stockpiled .22lr). I will have to sell my 10/22 to afford the AR-22, so it has to be a gun that will last. So will it?

Your link goes to the threaded barrel suppressor host version of their upper. Is that the one you're looking at?

I'd probably just get a TacSol barrel for your 10/22. Those are extremely accurate and lightweight...

They make an SB-X for the 10-22, just get that!

I know they make the barrel for a 10/22, but a 10/22 action isn't fit for that kind of barrel. A barrel of that quality demands a threaded receiver, not a mass production receiver with a sketchy barrel clamp.

have both, they serve different purposes.

both eat EVERYTHING i run through them. The tac sol will require a rounded hammer in your lower if you go that route though.
