Probably the most fun you can have with a rifle specifically built to fire 22 rounds.NRA Life Member

Nice to hear the m&p 15-22 is a good buy I went down to my local gun store today and looked at the colt M4 .22 and didn't like what I saw so I think I will be going with the smith and wesson thanks to everyone for all the input-John McClaneThat punk pulled a Glock 7 on me. Good decision. You can't go wrong with this rifle. I've so much fun at the range with mine. Every time I go I have strangers admiring the rifle and the accuracy it has. I think S&W owes me some commission by now
.
Remember when you get your rifle, buy the right brand of ammo or you'll have headaches. Aguila Super Max is the best I've found. I'm going on 2,000 rounds with this particular brand with 0 issues. I won't use anything else.
Enjoy!______________________________Comment

I was hesitant to buy initially b/c of the "cap gun" feel after shooting (esp. after shooting my .223 AR), but has quickly become my favorite gun to shoot. I have put many more rounds thru the 15-22 than all the other guns! Much more fun to shoot indoors than waste my .223 rounds, and even outdoors I find this gun the most fun also. Using iron sights, my girl makes the target "sing" @ 100yards every shot!
As for ammo, I have used nothing but Federal bulk from Walmart (b/c it comes out to be around .03 a bullet) and out of approx. 3-4k rounds, I have gotten 2 FTF/FTE total! And that was when the gun was really dirty (almost 1k rounds w/o cleaning........I got lazy). But now, I just clean after each trip to the range and have not had any issues whatsoever.
Hope this helps!Last edited by DirtyJerz; 10-06-2010, 2:12 AM.Comment

I am absolutely obsessed with mine. It's dirt cheap to shoot and great to run drills with.I am a law enforcement officer in the state of Colorado. Nothing I post is legal advice of any kind.

Just put 700rds through mine in the last 2 days.
Not a single problem. Didn't even bother to clean or relube between sessions.
Took an old friend out shooting with it for the first time and he was even able to get some pretty good groupings with it by the end of the day.The California Moderate Centrist Militia member in exile
