    M&P 15-22 problem newb question

so today i was shooting some remington golden bullets, the casing exploded when fired in the chamber. after checking if everything was ok, no noticeable damage i checked and fired a couple of rounds and it shooted fine, BUT it shoots full auto. what could be the problem? should i call S&W?

Call S&W and have them send you a prepaid shipping sticker. They will fix it and you'll have your gun back.

And stop shooting Remington ammo after you get it back.

look on the bright side, you have been upgraded from Semi-auto to Full-auto..
I am sorry about your gun and hope you get it back soon....
I am going to quit RGB on my MP15-22....
using CCI Blazer, I think this is a lot of better bullet...
It cost $22.99 per box (500) about 5 cents per bullet at Big 5 store...
or you can buy CCI mini-mag 7 cents per bullet at Wal-Mart...
You can think about it...good luck

Get the gun back to S&W. Don't even shoot it again, in full auto mode that is !!! Their warranty department should take care of it. Ask them for a prepay label for your shipping.

after cleaning the the rifle and looking over it really well one of the trigger pins must have loosen out. will that cause it to fire full auto? and if i decide to put the pin back in will that void my warranty?

hmmmm, so shooting remy rounds turns the M&P 1522 into FA you say... no wonder you arent supposed to shoot it (looks arround for cops and ATF agents)

                j/k
Ive actually shot a fair amount of golden bullet through mine. Didnt have any problems, but the ammo was pure garbage.

We've used our 15-22 for the boy in a couple training classes recently (he didn't wanna pay for 800 rounds of 5.56)

Running Winchester Super-X 40gr, no probs at all, I think over two separate days he put about 750 or 800 rounds downrange.

OP, we've found we are happier to shoot the higher-quality CCI or Winchester, we've had decent success with Federal bulk, but the CCI and Winny stuff runs better.

If one HAS to shoot Remington, we ran some old Viper stuff thru ours, no probs with it at all.

--> Every .22 is a little different it seems, while ours might like certain ammo yours (or that other guys') might run well with something else. But the GB is crap (as noted in numerous threads here too).

                  Have FUN!

^ I too have had better results with win over fed. I just run fed more because I can find it locally.

i have a glock .22lr conversion kit and it recommends the rgb's. since they have a harder primer i first used Winchester but they did not fire or eject. some guns are just finicky with ammo

Send it back to S&W immediately. Even though a malfunction caused it to be full auto, you can get into deep doo doo posessing a full auto rifle.
