Mine also runs great, it's the long-barrel P22 Target-CA version.
I've had bad luck with Remington Golden, but that same couple of bricks didn't work well, even in my 10/22 and Mark I. Otherwise, CCI MiniMags and Federal high velocity bulk work fine.
I bought it in 2007 to teach my daughter to shoot handgun - It's a good bit lighter and fits her hand a lot better than the Mark I. While I wouldn't recommend it (or any .22 for that matter) as a primary carry gun - it's been a perfectly adequate plinker, with probably about a thousand rounds through it.

I ran brand X and switched to Brand Y and now it gets FTFs..

What a POS gun..


But...Yes there are P22s that do have issues.

Mine runs like a champ with Wally World Federal bulk. Good enough that I bought two cases for it. Bought it years back when they were $220 and have been happy with it so far. No modifications needed to make it work. I guess I got lucky. My buddy bought one at the same time and his does not work with the Federal bulk but runs great with Remington GB bulk. Weird.

WalMart has CCI MiniMags for 6~7 bucks. The one on Talbert and Beach right down the street from The Fire Line.

Are the newer models still showing excessive slide wear from where the "ears" make contact? That was the primary reason I sold mine.
