Wolf is the best for target but at 100 bucks for 1000 rounds it's very expensive. Blazer is nice but for cheap plinking federal 555 or 525 what ever the amount is is the best price. Stay away from lighting bolt and wenchester ammo.

Cci is good. Federal target match is good but wolf is made by lapua and made by Germans. They made it for their olympics and Germany takes olympics seriously.

Yeah I've encountered problems with Remington Thunderbolt. But Federal has worked fine for me.

CCI Minimags or Bulk Federal from Walmart.

I get every cheap brick of CCI Blazer I can find. I usually pay $0.04 a round for it and it works super in all the 22's Ive had over the years. Its not the most accurate out there but its much cheaper than Wolf or Eley.....

I also like Federal 510s, and one of my Marlins really likes Remington Sub Sonics. I can shoot less than 1/2" groups at 50 yards almost every group.

I swore off Remington Golden Bullets about five years ago. Too inconsistant as I would get a few good groups and then horrible flyers where you could feel the inconsistant powder charges both light and heavy. Also more duds, dirtier actions, and unburnt powder spewing out of the ejection port of my 22/45.

I shoot the Federal bulk ammo from Walmart for plinking and for shooting groups on paper I use the Wolf Match Target. Hunted ground squirrels with CCI MiniMags in the past, but now I use a .223 rem.

I went to one of my local Walmart's and they didn't have bulk Federal 22. They had every other caliber in Federal's but no 22, what gives?!?!?!

A lot of people stock up. Did you ask if they carry it?

South Orange County: Foothill is out completely the other night. I've got extra time so I head out to Aliso Viejo... the shelf is packed full of nothing but the federal bulk packs.

                      Good luck

Federal bulk pack (red or champion) for the 10/22 (thats what I use in my 300 yard 10/22; you'll get an occasional flier but overall they usually feed/shoot well.

Im not a fan of Remy. Despite the factory advising against it, Ive fired Remmy Golden Bullet through M&P 15-22, it worked... but lots of fliers. It definitely felt very inconsistent and performed accordingly.
Nothing but the best from CCI.
For cheaper stuff, Im usually getting milk cartons of Fed Bulk. I like the Win333 a bit more, but I dont find locally as often as I do Fed Bulk packs.

Remington GB are very inconsistent. I only shoot those on my handguns, but never on my rifles. For rifles, I recommend mainly CCI (especially, the Minimags and Stingers). I still have yet to shoot Federal (American Eagle, Bulk and Match). I never shot standard velocity in my rifles, I always use HV.

as everyone else says.. stay away from remington gold bullet.

My wife and I took our 10/22's to the range last week and out of a 500 rounds or so, had at least 50 FTF and FTE.. some of them fed into the chamber and barrel perfectly, others seemed to be the wrong size and almost had to be jammed into the barrel. just total inconsistancy..

i had about 150 federals in my pistol speed loader, we used those and zero problems out of 10 round ruger OEM rotary's, butler creek hotlips, and another off brand pre-ban.. switched back to the RGB's and problems started again. had alot of double feeding which i blamed on the mag's at first. but anything other than RGB's and it worked fine.

If someone has calipers or a micrometer, id be interested in a sampling of RGB's compared to Federal's.

it really seemed some of the RGB's had to be forced into the barrel with 2 or 3 bolt drops before they could be fired.

on the other hand, accuracy was comparable, when they rounds fed & fired, they were pretty good,we were shooting clays at about 100 yds.

if its a revolver or bolt action, you shouldnt have a problem.
