another M&P 15-22 range report (sans pix)

Ran about 300 rounds or so out of the 15-22 at USI in Concord today.

Despite it being a no no for the 15-22, I ran about 40 rounds of remmy golden bullet I had laying arround. And with some luck, all fired without a hitch, just like the first time I tried them.

After that it was time to try to zero my Eotech 512 which I recently installed.
I really wanted to zero it for 50yds, but my shooting buddy only brought a pistol and shotgun, which USI will not let you take out to 50yds, so I had to settle for 25.

I figured getting a zero on this set up would be easy since I had it set up for a full co-witness, and sure enough it was. Had it really tight using Mini-mags.

After that I decided to try some CCI veloicitors in the 15-22. Ive had great fun with these rounds in my fathers Hamerli, so I figured why not see what happens with the M&P? Holy smokes did it run well! Very very tight groups that fit in a quarter, lots of cases of 10 shots fired and only 8 or 9 holes!
Great stuff, but a bit pricey for .22lr, which defeats my whole purpose of buying this gun.

Over all it was a great run, not a single problem, just me falling more and more in love with this diminutive carbine.

I bought a 550 box of The Remi Gold Bullets before hearing the bad reviews on them but all 550 went through my gun just fine. I didnt even have a FTF like they are known for. They actually have a stronger feeling recoil than the Federal 550 and the Win 333 bulk stuff. Only gripes I have about the Gold Bullet stuff is it makes my fingers gold from loading mags and the accuracy is horrible compared to the other bulk stuff. If they were accurate i'd buy em because as far as failures go, I havn,t had a problem with em.

I have a 15-22 and let me just say that I absolutely love it. I have the newer DTX serial and it is supposed to have the "ftf/fte problem" fixed. I have ran about 500 CCI mini mag and about 1,000 federal bulk without ANY problems. But when I loaded up the remmies (friend bought them for me) I had about 2-3 ftf/ftes per mag.

I have a DTX serial as well. I have not had a problem. I have not shot any remmington's through my yet. I have used plenty of CCI mini mags and federal as well as Winchesters 333 pack. I just make sure my mags are loaded correctly and I am GTG

Nice reports.

Just got back from a couple hundred rounds indoors, using Win Super-X 37gr HP, no probs at all. Last week we were using that CCI MiniMag and also no probs, also now approx 500 rounds since cleaning in the last week. (I usually clean more often).

Great fun these lil' 15-22's!

Haha how un-accurate it is i wouldnt be surprised. wonder if the inside of my barrel is gold plated now haha. I bought the 550 box before knowing better and gotta shoot it all becuause I don't wanna waste it haha.
