Tell me about this Browning .22

I inherited this rifle from a distant family member and I'm trying to find out more about it. According to the internet it was made after 1974 becuase it was made in Japan but the serial # doesn't conform to the normal Browning numbering system. It ends in "T47" I don't know when they purchased it and was hoping you guys could help me nail down exactly when it was made and what grade it is. Thanks.

I just had Browning research a couple of my Browning firearms. Those serial numbers didn't conform to the info on their website either. They did a magnificent job and told me a lot about the firearms, including the date of first sale and to whom. If you want their letter, it's about forty bucks, and in my opinion worth every nickle.
