Not only can you legally find one, provided the mag is already in Ca, you can actually buy it (the seller is breaking the law, not you).

What follows is not to be construed as legal advice, but consider this:
The burden of proof belongs to the prosecution. What proof would they have?
You have to be caught in the act of assembly or importation. Or, which I think is more likely, accidentaly admit guilt in some form to a LEO.

Now unless any of the preceeding was done, what basis would a DA have to convict you?

For example, if question about a hi cap, you were to claim you found it, and you stuck with said claim what penal code would be used against you?

Now is it worth tempting the law over this?
IMO, no. Going to court under any circumstance is not fun.

Yea i really like it. i am thinking about getting the sides and the bottom rails from IRON EAGLE, but they are a bit pricey. Any one heard of this company its fairly new? does anyone think it is worth it to get the auto-bolt release it seems like it would come in handy?

I just made my own auto bolt release last week for free. All you have to do is grind out the v-notch on the bolt release to get rid of the "v". I just used my dremel to grind it out and used a picture of the auto bolt release sold on midwayusa.com as a reference for the new shape of the hole. took me about 15-20 minutes from dis-assembly to re-assembled rifle. I think that having the auto bolt release is well worth it!! If you don't feel competent in modifying the existing bolt release....at least you could get a new one for $10-15 shipped.

Teardrop 50 round mags were totally around before the 2000 ban. I remember drooling over them but not having the money to buy 'em.

That mag looks to be the same as the 1022 mags, and if it is, they have been around well before 2000.

I have 2 mags pictured the tri-mag which is the regular 10/22 mags and the teardrop mag. like i said before the teardrop works perfect but is fragile and will break if not used correctly. what do you guys think is the best 10/22 Mod out there?

If I can find a way to get mine off my SR-22 without damaging it (some folks have had a bear of a time getting them off), you can have mine.

I was going to pop on a standard A2 hider to change the look a bit.

If you get it off I've got an A2 to trade. I don't care if its scratched just as long as it ain't bent, I can always refinish it

That is a beautiful gun! I loved the SR-22 when I held it in store.
