    Varmint scope for .22

I need some help picking a scope for my bull barreled 10/22 to use on squirrels using a bipod.

I would like to stay around $300 or less...

My 10/22 is silver, so a silver scope would be a plus, but not a deal-breaker

Well under your price limit, but I think it out-classes any scope within 150% of its price point.

I use a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14X40 with Mil-Dots on all my rimfires. I love this scope with side focus so you can mount it lower. Very nice scope.

I had a 3-9x40 Leupold on my 10/22 and recently moved it over for use on a different rifle. Went to WallyWorld and picked up a Bushnell 4-12x40AO. I actually like it much better for the .22 than the Leupold. It's very clear out to 150 yards and is dead on accurate and easily adjustable for windage/elevation. Cost was about $80. Now that it's on there...I wouldn't get anything else for it. I'm VERY happy with it.

I picked up a used Leupold 6.5-20x with adjustable AO for a little more than your stated budget---look around and post a WTB ad on Calguns, GunBroker etc.

Nikon makes some very nice optics! I love my Prostaff 4-12x40 with the BDC reticle!

Redfield is now made by Leupold, in America, by Americans.

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself...A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague."......Cicero

                  +1 on the Mueller APV
I've read a lot of great things about them for the price range and after I mounted a black one on my 10/22, I ran out and got a silver one for my Marlin model 60. Very happy with the advice and the purchase!
