buy a kidd trigger and try it out. If you dont think it was worth $300, then I would sell it for $280 and buy a hammer and sear kit... I would buy this trigger only if your real into accuracy or just have the extra funds for a freeking sweet trigger. I wouldnt buy the vq... I wanted a 2 stage adjustable...

I got the kidd and wont get rid of it. I have no desire to mod the stock group. Ill just keep it to put back if I ever have warranty problems...

If the opportunity presents itself, check out Hornet customs. Their trigger is pretty nice for the price and you can rebuild your stock kit as a backup.

Another vote for Tony Kidd's full house trigger group. I have played with, installed and tuned all the U-build trigger set ups. A properly tuned Power Custom ( it must be shimmed properly) gets very, very good but nothing yet equals the Kidd product.

            Kidd. Accept no substitutes.

You can fiddle around with volquartsen sears and hammers or send your trigger pack to a gunsmith to have it worked on and probably pay a bunch of money fiddling around until you get it almost right, but it will never be as nice as a Kidd.

I love my PowerCustom set up. Super easy to install, and easily as good as VQ, Kidd, and Hornets.

I did the same...just polish the internals and replace the hammer..there's a thread floating around here by another calgunner on how to do this or you can just google it.

Definitely try out as many different triggers as you can. The KIDD trigger's awesome and definitely better than my stock trigger with Power custom and VQ parts. But only you can decide if it's $240 better than upgrading the parts on the stock trigger.

Beware though, your friends might get more enjoyment out of the kidd trigger than you. If you buy the kidd trigger and can't beat their 10/22's equipped w/the stock trigger and $40 in parts.

Update, Kidd now has a single stage drop in for only $229. Factory set at 1.5 pounds. I have a Volquartson and a Timney and they both are 2.5 pounds.

I ordered the Kidd today and plan to put on my main match rifle, switch the Volquartson to my Back up, leave the Timney in my field Ruger and put the tuned Power custom unit in my Wifes...whew!

The Timney is NOT a drop in as advertised. You have to remove extra metal for individual fit. I elected to send the unit to Timney for them to do it (free). As a result in Ruger size differences due to casting, Timney is discontinuing the trigger unit and going to a complete trigger housing like Volquartson.
