    i'm so bummed

took the MKII Govt to the range yesterday. had a great time. about the time i was thinking of packing it in, jam. FTE. wtf? closer inspection showed the extractor was nowhere to be seen. plunger still there, but no extractor.
darn those ruger dudes. i was hoping i'd be able to shoot a quarter million rounds before anything broke. only made it to a little over 100,000.
boy, those dudes sure make lousy equipment. first failure at 100,000. bummer.

They serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."

Sorry to hear about the poor quality workmanship of your MKII.

At first one would think that's time for a new extractor. But. A few years ago I bought an old Standard Model from a guy that was all fouled-up and worn out looking (the gun that is) for like 100 bucks. Didn't operate at all. I called up Ruger and told them "I have one of your guns and it's all messed-up." They said "send it in." I sent it to them and for 30.00 labor they completely rebuilt it with all new internal parts. It works like new again. Well worth the repair bill.

No. But only because Glock don't make a .22LR.

Then my Mark I Standard is about ready to go any time now. Guess I'll have to watch for that.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!
