Those Sako Quads are sick rifles but damned they are expensive. Not to mention the replacement barrels and stocks for them. Sweet rig though....Im jealous

I took this thing out today and made hits to 300yards! It was really hard with the wind blowing at 5-6mph, but it was fun as hell!

With a rifle like yours I could see it reaching out to 300 meters
what was the spead like at 300 or were you shoot at steel

It wasnt anything impressive. I got maybe 5 hits on 6" circles. Had basically a water line to the right of my shoot and see because of the wind. I was holding of anywhere from 0 to 3 MILs.

I wanted to bump this because Iggy your rig is one sicka-s-s stick. I didnt even know about Sako's till you had posted this and now after some research I want one real bad. I had a Ruger 10/22 that was mildly built (started as a factory custom, replaced the barrel with a GM, B&C stock, decient optics) and it was a good shooter but really without some serious money investment there was no way it could compete with most of the bolt actions I have competed against so I sold it and bought a Savage TR. With the Savage TR I have not been at all happy with it. It is consistantly inconsistant from first shot flyers and everything inbetween. I have tried different ammo, cleaning, not cleaning voodoo chants blood sacrifices and its still not working anywhere near my old Ruger. Now i used to have a Remmington 700 SPS in .223 but sold it with the intention to make a M40a1 type clone eventially but shoot my Savage to keep my skills up. Now with the Sako I could make an almost exact clone of an M40a1 in .22 and once done start work on a Remmy. From what I have read the Sako with a Lilja barrel is the ultimate tack driver and can replace most of the .22's I already have so Iggy I envy you and like I said you have a sick stick

Thanks man! It's really fun to shoot! I'm down to only a few guns and I don't see my self getting another one. Well maybe a Benelli M4 if spring for another one. LOL

What do you mean? Why spend so much on a rifle to only be shot at 50 yards?

I shoot at 50-100 to practice fundamentals and the principals of a good shooting position when I'm not shooting my 308. It's cheaper and just as challenging when compared to shooting a larger caliber.

I don't only shoot at 50 yards. I have taken it out to 300 and that is where things get really tricky. I don't always have access to a 1000 yard range to stretch the legs on the 308.

If you can put a .22 into the same hole over and over at 50 yards just imagine what you can do with a 308 at 500 yards. A Sako is an expensive practice rifle but one that will last a lifetime and will outshoot most other .22's out there and the nice thing is its convertable so you can shoot .22, 22WM, .17 etc and have one rifle that shoots 4 different caliburs.
