^ that's funny because my cousin was communicating with a canadian dealer and was directed to some kind of federal form to do it. . . Not speaking from personal experience of course

Form 6a. Importer can fill it out. Have it approved. You can pay him and the Canadian dealer and buy it. But when it goes to Customs / BATF for inspection, it will be denied into the US per 922r. Too many features on it that do not allow it into the US. The Feds. will keep it and you are out your money. Of course the Canadian guy wants you to buy it cause he will get his dough, regardless, and is happy. Not worth the try, bud.

          I still want a fg42 in .22lr.
It may be time to pick up a ruger and an airsoft fg42 body and get to work.

The fg42 is such a funky gun, but def has appeal. That in .22 would be awesome. Someone is selling a nonfunctional fg42 in the private firearms sales section as I recall. Nonfunctional make me sad though :'-(

RobGR, is this non functioning fg42 a model of sorts?
IIRC there were only about 6000 produced.

                Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

There's a US manufacturer who is going to put out semi auto FG42s some time in the future. Type 2s to start with and then maybe Type 1s later. These are not the ones from FG42.us. That project has, apparently, been taken over by someone else. These Type 2s are coming from a whole separate outfit. Stay tuned.
