I've received emails from them and other forum members on another Board have as well. These are not likely to make it to the US, if at all, until next year at the earliest.

Based on the info in the link, it's actually about $2,100, not $1,500

Looks cool, but no thanks, no $2100 .22's for us.

The rumor was they were going to try and get the costs below $1500 on them. The other rumor is that a US company is tryin' to manufactuer .22 lr MP44s using something similar to the nice replica copies and dropping in useable parts. This would make some sense. They'd cost a LOT less then and more people would buy them.

Would preferably get an MP40 in .22 cal.... hmmm, does anyone make an MP40 .22lr?

And anything over $2000 is absurd for a .22 ... ugh, except, ofcourse, for this Ruger 10/22 mod, Walther WA2000 - http://www.flickr.com/photos/impulselabs/3063649831/ which, if I had the money, would pick up in a heartbeat.

Not that I know of and I have looked for firearms like that for the purpose of acquiring cool looking cheap shooters. If it's under $1500 I would probably buy it if it's German made. If US made ones come along they'll be less.

Interesting though, just the price tag is a shocker.

Likely the rarity of the actual gun that rose the price tag. No reason they couldn't put something similar to a 10/22 package inside of a stamped out gun and then sell it with oversized mags. Matter-of-fact, with all the crappy repro. MP44 mags being sold out there now, they'd already have a lot of mags. to use to convert to .22lr

F me! Id kill for about any stg44 that shot real bullets, but 2100 for a 22lr?

For a bit more you could import the 8mm kurz version from canada.

Those cannot be imported to the US from Canada. The only way you can get them in the US is the few remaining at Recon Ordnance - and they cost $5,000+.
